Sync HR Partner employees and never miss a compliance deadline
HR Partner gives small and medium teams a clean, modern HRIS for employee records, leave, onboarding, recruitment, and more. Expiration Reminder takes the renewable side of those records — licenses, certifications, training, work permits — and turns it into a system you can actually trust.
Connect the two and your active employees flow into Expiration Reminder automatically. From there, assigning documents, tracking expirations, and sending renewal reminders happens in one place — without spreadsheets, double entry, or manual cleanup every time someone joins or leaves.
- Automatically import active HR Partner employees as contacts in Expiration Reminder, with department, job title, hire date, and manager mapped over for clean reporting.
- Trigger renewal reminders for licenses, certifications, training, and work permits the moment an employee is added — and retire tracking automatically when someone is terminated in HR Partner.

Why connect HR Partner and Expiration Reminder
HR Partner is built for SMB teams that need a clean HRIS without enterprise overhead — employee records, leave, onboarding, recruitment, expense claims, and electronic signatures all in one place. The piece that almost every HR team still struggles with, though, is the long tail of expiring documents: professional licenses, mandatory training, work eligibility, safety certifications, vendor contracts. Miss one and you fail an audit, lose a contract, or put a hire on hold.
Expiration Reminder fills that gap. Connect HR Partner once and your employee directory becomes the source of truth for every renewable document tied to those people. New hires inherit your tracking rules automatically. Terminations close out cleanly with an audit trail. And every renewal — whether it's 30 days out or 12 months out — gets surfaced before it becomes a problem.
Key benefits
- One source of truth for people. HR Partner owns employee data; Expiration Reminder owns document expirations. Nobody has to maintain two lists.
- Automated onboarding for compliance. New employees are pulled in on the next sync and ready to have documents assigned the same day.
- Clean offboarding and audit trail. Terminated employees move to inactive automatically, but their document history stays in place for compliance reviews.
- No double entry. Updates to names, departments, job titles, and managers in HR Partner flow through to Expiration Reminder on the next sync.
- Renewal reminders that actually work. Configurable email, SMS, and in-app reminders fire on the cadence your team needs — not just at the last minute.
How it works
The integration uses HR Partner's official API and runs a one-way sync from HR Partner into Expiration Reminder. After you authenticate the connection, your active employees are imported as contacts, complete with department, job title, hire date, manager, and employment status.
From there, you assign renewable documents the way you always have — by employee, by group, or in bulk via filters. Expiration Reminder watches the dates and notifies the right people on the schedule you configure. Daily syncs keep employee data fresh, and you can also trigger a manual sync at any time if you need an update right away.
Common use cases
Healthcare and clinical teams
Clinical staff carry stacks of expiring credentials — nursing licenses, BLS, ACLS, infection-control training, background checks. Pull every clinician from HR Partner and track each credential against the right renewal cadence so you never schedule someone who's lapsed.
Construction, trades, and field services
OSHA certifications, equipment licenses, drug screens, and trade-specific tickets all expire on their own clocks. Sync your field workforce from HR Partner and assign the tickets each role needs — Expiration Reminder takes care of the renewal calendar.
Professional services and finance
CPAs, CFPs, attorneys, and other regulated professionals carry licenses and CE requirements that have to be tracked precisely. Use HR Partner as the source of truth for who's billable, and let Expiration Reminder enforce the renewal discipline behind the scenes.
Getting started
Setting up the integration takes about five minutes. You'll need admin access in HR Partner and an Expiration Reminder account on a plan that supports HRIS integrations. Open the setup guide for the step-by-step walkthrough, or jump straight into your Expiration Reminder account and look for HR Partner under Settings > Integrations.
